There’s something about a rooftop restaurant that takes dining out to another level. Probably because there’s not much that beats good food with a great view. Lucky for us, when it comes to picturesque dining – up high or on the ground – Pretoria has plenty of gourmet and comfy café spots.

Named South African Restaurant of the Year in 2013, the kitchen team strives to continually provide culinary excellence and innovation. What’s especially enjoyable about De Kloof is the obvious fun the chef and his team have when naming their dishes – go ahead and order the Alive and Kicking, Cheeky Cow or “Rooikappie se Ouma se Koek” because the food is as creative as the names suggest. Open Monday from 18:00 to 21:00, Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 21:00 and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00.

Brasserie de Paris
Brasserie de Paris is a fine dining restaurant inside the bespoke Karl Jooste House, and a meal at this elegant restaurant is as much a dining as it is an architectural experience. Karl Jooste was a well-known South African architect whose work was heavily influenced by French architecture.
